USA and Mexico research trip
In 1977, I was invited by a hotel developer in Kuala Lumpur to take a tour of the United States and Mexico. It was my first time to cross the Pacific Ocean.
Below are the flight routes and records of my flight between the United States and Mexico.

Acapulco
Los Angeles- to Acapulco, Mexico City one-way ticket. March 1977.
$236.50 USD.
San Francisco to Las Vegas to Los Angeles one-way ticket. March 1977.
$93 dollars.
The ticket was handwritten, and the receipt was a carbon copy.
This was before the age of computers and digitalization.

In March 1977, Aero Mexico took off from Los Angeles Airport The beautiful downtown area of Los Angeles was visible below.

Depart Los Angeles at 11:45 a.m. and arrive in Acapulco at 3:10 p.m.
At the airport in Acapulco, as we were preparing for the final landing, I saw a large flock of birds flying across the runway.
They were so close that I thought they would be swallowed by the hole in the engine. I see, I’m already in Mexico.

Las Brisas featured in a Japanese travel magazine
Back in 1977, a travel magazine published an article about a great hotel in Acapulco, Mexico, and it was getting lots of attention.
I came all the way here to see the hotel.
It was a romantic hotel with a private pool for each villa, and when I woke up in the morning, I saw bright red petals floating all over the pool.
This was Las Brisas in Acapulco, which was at the forefront of resorts at the time.
