India Travelogue 2015
#24/26
Nagapattinam #2

Nagore Dargah
Nagore Dargah is a mosque that has become prototype of Muslim Mosque in Singapore. It is 6.3km away from the center of Nagapattinam, about 15mins by car.

This religious architectural complex is a sight to behold.
The fact that the architectural style of this temple crossed the Indian Ocean and is still alive in Singapore is a good example of how culture and religion are transmitted around the world in combination with architectural style.

If you leave the church and walk straight along the approach to the south, you will reach the Bay of Bengal in the Indian Ocean, where many pilgrims enjoy the seaside.
