Mayiladuturai Junction

After a 12-hour night train ride, I arrived at the last station, Mayiladuthurai Junction. Here the owner arranged two cars to send us to our final destination, Nagapatinam.
A lime tree is planted on the platform to provide shade.
We cross the overpass, with porters carrying my luggage. It’s only 7 o’clock in the morning, but is feels like 35 degrees!
During the day, temperature will reach 45 degrees. If you are not in the shade….

Tap water
There is a tap water point outside this house, and it seems that it is a common tap shared with the surrounding residents.
There is no need to transport water from a distance, so the residents seem to be happy.
